e6600 Temps

Hi, got my e6600 @ 3.4Ghz Core Stable; And I was checking my CPU Temps and reading people have like a 3.5Ghz e6600 @ 45-50oC fully loaded :/

My e6600 is running @ 46-48 "idle" // tarting about on the net.

I slap TAT on and slap it upto 100% Workload and the temps sit at 66oC highest I seen it peak is at 67 after 40minutes of 100% workload, Is this cosha? Obviously I doubt many games use 100% CPU Usage, Infact I know crysis only uses like 60% topside of both cores, It's just games I play like Supreme Commander thats like a CPU Bitch where I am worried. I'm using a Artic7.

Thanks in advance.

BTW Temps are checked on TAT and CoreTemps

According to CPUz - Core 3400MHz, Rated FSB 1700MHz, Core Voltage 1.360V

BIOS cores @ 1.4though, vdroop ftl!

You're not using an Asus P5b by any chance are you? 67 is a tad warm but still well below cooking temperature I believe. If 67 is the max it hits and it doesnt start to throttle itself down due to overheating then I'd be inclined to ignore it. I currently have my e6600 running at 3,330MHz @ 1.296v (after vdroop) idles at similar temps to yours (unless speedstep kicks in then it idles in the low 30's) and max temp I've seen it reach @ 100% load is 62

Out of interest btw what are your Super_Pi timings (1M) using 8 * 425? Whilst I was dabbling with my setup my 8 * 425 scores came in much slower than my 9 * 370 scores.

Nothing to worry about but does seem warmer than it could be, my e6600 is at 3.2 and runs passively. in my room now with central heating on lowish I'm getting 28/30 on my cores at stock volts. load I usually see no more than high 40's with the very occasional nudge at 50.

not bad in an matx case with a £10 coolermaster cpu cooler lol, just decided to try it without the fan one day and realised I didn't need it.

you could try the old , remove hsf, clean,re apply tim, re seat hsf. often the simplest things work
