quick question:

does overclocking without putting the vcore up produce any more heat?

i.e will it affect temps?

got a e6600 in a shuttle so dont want higher temps.

Really, it is volts that raise the heat....although with all the fancy throttling (eg Speedstep) going on, I guess less speed (read : OC) on the CPU may make for slightly lower temps.....

Also, depending on what you are actually using the Shuttle for, perhaps no need OC'ing that much ? Thinking it may be a HTPC etc. ????

In my experience it does but you're only talking a degree or 2 extra.

Heat increases linearly with clock rate with constant Vcore, so it makes little difference to overall temperatures.
