E8400 Overclock
Hey, so I only heard about the tool, Intel Burn Test a couple of days ago. I'm relatively new to overclocking and have read many guides provided here, so gave a go at overclocking. I have a couple of questions I'd like answered.
Is this tool a good standard for overclocking? I usually use Prime95 and using these setting it has ran stable for 6 hours. I read (and see) that 100% load temps on IBT are a lot (about 10+c for me) higher than in Prime95, so when using IBT should you still use 70c as the max limit (I know you can go a bit over but I like to stick to 70) or higher? Also is it safe to stress test with only using IBT, although I think to be safe I would use it to set up an initial overclock then test with Prime95 over a longer period if it passed IBT.
I haven't changed the PPL or FSB Termination voltage at all, they are set to auto, should they be manually set?
Do the below settings/results seem "normal"? Cheers.
Mobo: ASUS P5Q Deluxe
RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX PC2-6400
Cooler: Zalman CNPS8000
CPU Voltage: 1.24375 (in BIOS)
DRAM Voltage: 1.8
