e8400 + IP35 Pro, 127 deg in BIOS - 15-17 deg difference between cores

You're going to RMA a perfectly working chip because of temperature reading problems that will only show when you overclock, that's hardly moral?

I'm sure they'll release a BIOS that will account for the bug at some point, even if they're badly calibrated there must be a way to offset it.

Yep there must be a way to sort it if it is an issue with the chip. Intel are not daft.

I think RMA'ing is silly since Intel don't actually support Diode readings to the end user anyway, nor do they support overclocking as it happens :D.

I'm thinking of RMAing a chip because it's showing mental temps, and keeps crashing. As other people here are experiencing too:

This chip hasn't been overclocked, I wanted to get it stable at stock before trying that and at present that's proving to be difficult not only for me but for a number of other people in the thread above too. Seems like a little more than a coincidence if it's affecting a whole load of people don't you think?

'd rather not RMA it but I'm also not about to RMA it under immoral circumstances. If it's not sold as fully functioning properly, then it's getting RMA'd. End of.

I'll try a Windows reinstall tomorrow when I've got some more time, but at the moment beer is more important :)

Sounds like the board you need to RMA due to crappy Wolfdale support. Not the chip.
