anyways, that CPU for gaming should be good for another few months/years if its starts to struggle clock it more
Try vcore of 1.275 or less for 4ghz, don't know what you used before.

That E8400 @ 4ghz is as good as it gets for gaming really.
I would much recommend you spend any money on looking at the 5800 series. Not that your 4890 is in need of replacing .... lol !!! But you get my drift i hope.
