E8400 temps

im getting a bit confused with my temps too, if i do a stress test at stock (with TRUE HSF) cores stay at 21 degrees according to speed fan and Asus ProbeII, core temp sticks at 35 on both and doesnt go up or down.
did a mild oc to 3.6 to test, and then speed fan and probe went up to around 30-35 defrees but core temp started to react but went to around 44 to 45 but both cores the same.... hummmm what do i trust? :p

If you downloaded the latest version of Core Temp (>link<), the core temperatures in Everest (CPU #1/Core #1 and CPU #2/Core #2) would then mirror those in Core Temp.

The current version of SpeedFan, v4.33, doesn't pick up the core temperatures for the Wolfdale; this is being corrected in the next version.

Temp 2 in SpeedFan is the temperature in Everest labeled as CPU. I'm assuming this is the Tcase temperature.

The item labeled Core in SpeedFan is the temperature of your graphics cards GPU.

got software is confusing as hell :P im just going by coretemp on mine as it seems the most sensible values ;)

well atm im going by touch and the mobo sensor 4ghz is about 50 degreese on mobo sensor load that is, cba to do anymore tonight
