Hey all,
I'll get my cooling (OCZ V2+ Noctua P12) only on Sunday, though I want to assemble my new PC today. My problem is I don't want to install intel's stock HSF, since I believe it has a thermal pad sticked on it, which I think will stick to the CPU; then, take it all off in order to apply my TIM and install the new cooling on Sunday.
Therefore, I've wondered, is it possible / safe to run the E8400 bare naked for a few days, even if lowering its clock is needed?
Cheers!
