E8500 temps.

hi all.
Having my new rig put together atm, and getting 42 degrees in coretemp. Does this seem normal or bit high? I'd like to think its an inaccurate reading.

E8500@stock
Noctua 12P H/S & Fan,
Maximus Formula X38,
G Skill 2x2 pc8500.

Its been setup outside the case for now and has only been setup for 24hrs or so

any replies appreciated .

Bit high but e8*** series are getting some weird temp results. I assume from you being surprised that they are idle temps so what are your load temps?

Between temperature monitoring programs i get a 10c difference.

I'm told that only RealTemp is currently giving a true core reading on the E8x00 series.

Hope that's the case WJA as RealTemp is 10c lower than my OCCT readings.

49c vs 59c - 100% load @ 3.8ghz (1.265v)

Ok fellas, some more results.

9.5 x 358 = 3.4ghz (1.150v). Wasn`t having anything below 1.150v

Idle: 44/5/6 on both cores (Core Temp), 33/4/5 (Realtemp).
Load: 56 and 52 (Core Temp), 46 and 42 (Realtemp).

Ran 3D06 for a nice 15772 (3870x2), no problems so far.

Do these seem ok? too high?

Going for 3.5 if you think these seem ok.

@3.6 (9.5 x 379) 1.30V

Using Core Temp-:

Idle 46/46
Load 58/56 (under 3D06). Only peaked at 58 (core 0) but averaged around ...55/56. Core 1 averaged 53, peaking at 56.

3D06 (Cat 8.4) 16,567

How does this look fella`s? Going from stock to 3.6 hasnt really affected temps THAT much even though now at 1.30v.

Any thoughts please?

Temps look fine to me. 1.3v is nothing to worry about either. I'd only start worrying from 1.4v TBH.

Thanks GT. Yeah im not going any further. I said before i bought if i could get 3.6 i`d be a happy chappie. Considering what i paid for it im more than happy! I read about the 1.45 figure, even though the cpu box says 1.225. Thanks for the quick reply mate. Appreciated.

EDIT. my bad, its not at 1.3, its at 1.243.....with everything else on auto. Wonder if i could tweak my mem timings? its well underclocked as you can see (G.Skill PC8500). I tried running on an 8 multi to boost the mem but machine didnt like it.
