Not sure how that's relevant here, but OK.
Its just people were mentioning getting a 335d instead. I was looking 1 of these but with the N54 engine couple years ago but they were very strong money wise

That's what happened with mine, there was no knocking when I bought it at all and it lasted 500 miles, I was driving it when the bearing spun, you could very clearly hear happen it before the knocking started. I had BMW tear down the engine to inspect it and this was their diagnosis. 5 injectors were found to be leaking after testing and they noted that the oil reeked of fuel and was very thin due to the heavy dilution. Interestingly it was serviced by BMW a week before it happened so the oil in there was pretty fresh when I bought it, unclear why they didn't notice that the oil stank of fuel then.I've never heard of a rod bearing spinning because of a leaking injector. The only way I could see this happening is if the fuel diluted the oil so much that the oil didn't do it's job. But even then, if it's leaking that badly it's going to hydrolock the engine way before it dilutes the oil so it's exceptionally unlikely.
It's much more likely someone has mistreated the car/overrevved/modified it and raise the rev limiter/used the wrong oil the engine has started knocking so they've got rid asap.
List of mods? It's got a good list of mods and a dyno printout for 430hp. Still not had a proper play in it yet though.
Dct or manual?Injectors are good, rod bearings are good. No need for MHD at the moment, running JB4
Any reason why you don't fancy mhd? The monitoring features are worth it aloneManual with N54 engine. I did fancy the DCT but they were out of budget
I can't see what else it would show be over the JB4.
JB4 gives me live monitoring, converts the fuel gauge to a boost gauge, on the fly map change is possible, shift light, NLS, rolling launch control etc etc
It's running the MHD stage 2+ back end flash, so I will eventually buy the adapter and license, but at around £160 for them, it's not high up on the list.
