EA SPORTS PGA TOUR GOLF

You must be some player.

This is more akin to my experience. And he's playing with the cheating putt line turned on!

Gave this a go and I just can't get on with the gameplay compared to 2K21 / 2K23. It just feels so sluggish and detached.

If only they could combine the gameplay of 2K and the features of this, it would be almost perfect.

Does the Deluxe Edition include The Masters Gear? Searching online seems to suggest so, but the description on Steam only states
  • 1,500 PGA TOUR POINTS
  • PGA TOUR XP Bundle
So either this isn't correct or The Masters Gear was a pre-order bonus only?

Just purchased this game. I ended up trying it out with EA Play and honestly I'm impressed. Also yesterday I bought 2K PGA as found it was on sale for only £15! I mainly got it so can play on TGCTours. I've only had little time on both games, graphics on EA game are just wow, even on Medium and runs decently on my aging card.

First thing I noticed going between the two is the speed of the swing, 2K I will only pull back half with a quick flick up, whereas on EA I feel like I have more time, plus with EA you have to pull back fully to get the swing. The swing tempo seems easier on EA game, on 2K it's very hard and often times feels like getting perfect shots is hit or miss.
EA have made it almost impossible to put without grid, especially for me, it's very difficult to read. It would be nice if the camera could be zoomed all the way down to the ground.
Another thing EA does better is practice swings. On 2K it feels like I have to stop all animations to a halt, click to change from practice and then swing, but that small break can often break the flow of the swing I just had in practice. On EA, it's much more fluid, I can do some great practice swings, quickly switched to ball and still have the same flow I had in my practice swings.
I do have a lot of issues with approach shots though, but that's probably just me being bad. The greens feel brutal and balls just keep on rolling.

I do wish they would add in some sort of training ground, something where you can aim for pins on a small green, send some chips into baskets. Same sort of stuff you'd find on a real range.

I'll continue playing both games, both games are very enjoyable.

Been playing the 10hr trial and it's somewhat frustrating. Ball will sometimes fly off at an angle when you have perfect strike and lie?
I am finding it difficult to judge the power bar on the swing on Pro settings, almost always go over and fly over the green.
Graphics are pretty good, like the skill tree system as well.
Not sure I will spend my hard earned on it though.

I have only used a gamepad and haven't seen an option for the click system.

3 click is coming in a future update:

Is anyone else getting a lot of visual glitches in the menus and OSD? Flicking textures or textures bugging out and becoming super low res or missing? In game is fine. Also the menus seem super laggy and just not smooth to interact with.

Looking for a PGA/Golf game that will work on a handheld (Steam Deck or Ally), anyone tried this on one of those? am I right in thinking this is an online only game? looking of something I can take on a long haul flight.

It looks from https://store.steampowered.com/app/1677350/EA_SPORTS_PGA_TOUR/ as though EA Sports PGA Tour requires online all the time, even for single player, which is a shame as it's a great game.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1588010/PGA_TOUR_2K23/ says that the first time setup for 2K23 requires online, but not that ongoing games do (suggesting they don't)

PGA TOUR 2K23 Standard Edition is £12:49

EA SPORTS™ PGA TOUR™ is £23:99

Which one is the best for casual play?
I'd say EA's game. Both games can set the difficulty to fit your liking, graphically EA PGA is better to me, they also have players, real courses and events. 2K23 excels in their community made courses, the swing is known to be harder to pull off too on 2k23.

Can't really go wrong with either one though.
