EA to include microtransactions in ALL future games.

That's why EA's parent corporation/financial backers bought an enetertainment company. So other people could have fun.

Well that's the whole point isn't it. EA is there to make a buck, but many in the industry are also there for the joy of it. You don't have to go that way, but you choose to cash-in and ride on that gravy train, then get called a greedy money-grabbing b******.

Valve, A.net, Activision, everyone does it. When it's not at the detriment of the consumer and the gameplay experience, then I don't really care tbh.

What is the big deal? Microtransactions did not effect Dead Space 3 at all, all it did was let lazy gamers buy items. Wow. When they start to make it p2w or when they make the game impossible to beat or boring without using microtransactions is a good time to moan, otherwise why care?

What do you think pay to get to high level means?

If its things like extra clothes which make no difference, then I don't care. But once you start selling resources, skill points etc. it wrecks multiplayer games. If its single player then it doesn't matter.

BATTLEFIELD 4 NEW DLC ! 12.00 THE ABILITY TO RUN !

haha cant wait for the lap dogs in here to mop that crappola up then call everyone else cod fan boys :D roll on october :p

Great news if it brings down the retail price, effectively meaning that those who pay for microtransactions will subsidise normal users.

I've never really understood the microtransaction thing to be honest. Buying your way to the end point of a game seems somewhat ridiculous. You may as well buy a game, burn 20 quid and not bother installing the game. Where's the fun in it?

Last game of theirs I bought was SWToR and before that it was probably one of the Sims 3 expansions. Both stunk of EA.

I understand that a company exists to make a profit, but what I don't understand is why people feed a company that regards its customers with such utter contempt.:D

I can see what going to happen..

You go out and spend £150+ buying the Sim 3 game and all it addons/DLC

And then when you start playing the game you find out you need go to the ingame shop and buy food for your sims with real money ..

:D:D

They're seeing people buying stuff for the likes of Facebook games to unlock things sooner.

But - so long as I can still play the game, and still get the same overall end result, I don't mind quite as much (although it is annoying, I just won't pay)

But if they'll be stripping out functionality and making it pay-only - then that's when the average consumer misses out.

You should care for the latter you mentioned, as should everyone.

Slowly it has been building up to stuff like this and it's only going to get worse, games will be made with the idea of microtransactions being the basis. Games that you'd never have though would have them, slapped ontop of full priced games.

It's okay for now, they've forgotton that people have been using cheats/trainers/mods for over a decade to do this for free. However all too many people will actually pay for it making it worthwhile for them.

If anyone is blind to seeing how slowly over the years they've (some publishers/devs) been making it acceptable to pay more for things. Greed for more money, because enough is not enough anymore. Making games because you want to make games, not because you want the next cash cow. Eugh.

So by your line of thought, don't care until it happens and ignore it slowly getting there. ROLLEYES.
If you're ignoring there are way too many people in the world that will pay for ****, then you should check again; these people give reason to continue and adapt the market in a worse way for the rest of us.

I dont particularly mind it in some cases. Depends what it is. They can go screw themselves if it's 10 quid to make the single player make sense.

Yep

Or ammo in BF4 will be bought in-game :p:eek::p:eek::p

I love the way that everyone goes on a rampage when EA introduce microtransactions, which blizzard has been doing successfully for YEARS. Why do you think they introduced them in the first place? Its because gamers do actually buy the random garbage they sell. Look at world of warcraft, with all the vanity pets and mounts you can buy for in game characters which are like £18 each... Its 100% profit for the games company and EA would be utterly retarded to ignore it.

If you want to buy something, by all means, get it. If you just want to play the game normally (like me) and prefer a challenge, don't buy anything. Not hard is it...

If you 30 quid or whatever for a game then that should it. No to micro transactions! I really hate the way this is going, it's not a friggin App Store!! 79 p here, 1.99 there.

Of course EA will relish this, look what did with battlefield 3
