I agree, there are far worse companies out there. To be fair, there is now way that ea is the worst company in America. I have friends that work in the gaming industry and they have all said that ea is the only company that treats its staff like people, don't work them to death and have a benefits system.
I'm not the biggest fan of ea but its just immature Internet peeps that think its amusing to vote them down. Having said that.....always on is just drm![]()
You've become a troll by implicitly defending EA's nonsense.OcUK, we can do better.
You've all become a bunch of EA trolls, you're boring and quite frankly embarrassing.
yada, yada yada, hyperbole ****, yada yada yada. **** you!!
They're a **** company who do their best to takeover successful new IP's, force the studios into turning out sequel after sequel without any regard to quality of game/story/gameplay and then they just dump the carcass when the proceeds start to dry up.

This in particular is a flat out lie. SimCity has been made to work offline and even with a much larger city size through modification.

No EA you "WILL" do better or else!
Doesn't this prove that the online aspect isn't actually DRM? If it was, then it would have been a lot more difficult to run the game offline surely than just a few config hacks?
Well no because it is actually DRM. Being able to bypass DRM isn't exactly a new thing, in fact the main reason always online DRM is hated is because it has a long history of failing to stop piracy and doing very little except punishing the paying customer in the end.
Or else what? It doesn't seem to matter how many issues there with EA games people will still go out buy the next fifa or battlefield game.
I'm just playing devils advocate, but why has it been classed a DRM? Just because a game requires an internet connection doesn't make it DRM, unless it's specifically there to prevent the game from being copied. Which doesn't seen to be the case with Sim City otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy to bypass?
, but there's a rather large degree of arrogance in this post and they seem to have missed the point in many respects...

I saw the post, I started reading thinking "wow they might be getting it, they might be acknowledging gamers and their fans (and critics) they could actually change...

If it isn't DRM why wouldn't they provide a way to play a single player city offline if it's been proven so easy to do?
It would have helped them sell a ton more copies...
One reason would be that they are hoping to make more money by selling DLC directly through the game. It's much easier to get an impulse buy out of a customer if the game is always online, rather than wait until the customer connects to the online service.
