EA: We can remove your purchased game in Origin

Why wouldn't you log into Origin for 24 months?

While it might not seem fair or right for them to remove your purchased games, I can't see how anyone would be moronic enough to allow it to happen.

We all dislike ea anyway for numerous reasons but steam can do the same man. Valve probably wouldn't but still

I do hope that gaming companies don't screw us honest loyal customers, otherwise they will have to face misery on their hand:mad:

Reminds me of PSN hacking scenario with Sony although that was a different matter, but still some parallels can be drawn.

There's a massive difference between temporarily suspending an account while they investigate fraud and permanently blocking an account.

That may be true, but the orignal quote I replied to implied that Valve would never do this 'because it wouldn't stand up in court'. I was just showing that Valve do exercise that part of the T&Cs rather frequently.

So my Origins account will get closed if I dont log in for 24 months and I will lose all my games????

pretty much every mmo of the last 10 years has had the same clause but 12months in its T&C but never actually deleted closed accounts.
this is beeing blown out of all proportion

Don't know why they don't just bill by the hour and be done with it.

Because that's a terrible idea. Absolutely awful.

It's not such a bad idea in China where you purchase hours instead of monthly gametime for MMOs, but not for this. GTFO with that.

I'm sure if they wanted to start charging a monthly sub for Battlefield (like an MMO), that there would be plenty of people willing to pay.

Anyway, my "by the hour" comment wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

for now. Bobby's got his hand in the pile and he isn't gonna let go. EA, well, what would expect from them.

To be fair, I wouldn't mind if they provided good dedicated servers. Paying for server time makes sense.
