Earliest recollection stood at an arcade game and first game(s) played

The very 1st video game that I can remember playing was Boothill..i used to love the music when you died...it was a great 2 player game.
My other favs in no particular order:-
Gauntlet....."green elf is about to die",etc
Dragon Lair...i never did manage to finish this game...i used to watch people playing it in a local aracde for what seemed like hours so I could memorise the moves.
Pacman...remember getting sore fingers from pushing the joystick too hard.
Vanguard...scrolling shoot em up
Phoenix..we used to walk about 4 miles to the nearest town just to play this in the foyer of a coop supermarket...we would play a few games and then walk all the way bck home after about 10 mins play.
Star Wars....the one where you sat in the cabinet with vector graphics...classic :)

then whilst at college, shipleys by the bus station in hanley, aged 18 i remember original ridge racer, proper driving game, powerslides and stuff :D and the original time crisis... "get into the castle and rescue rachel "

Hey i played those games in the same place at around the same time. Think they had a tekken or soulblade machine aswell. Then across the road at fiction factory they had some older games downstairs. Think they had a 2-player turtles machine and a turbo outrun aswell.

Can't remember what order they were in but my earliest memories goes.

Space invaders - Nottingham Goose Fair

Scrample - Chip shop

Asteriods - Chip shop

Outrun - Matlock Bath Arcades

Moon Buggy - Nottingham Arcade

Defender - Nottingham Arcade

Pheonix - Plymouth Cafe

Sinistar - Nottingham Arcade

The thing i always remember about old arcade games is that distinctive haunting sound they make that modern games don't

Dragon Lair...i never did manage to finish this game...i used to watch people playing it in a local aracde for what seemed like hours so I could memorise the moves.
I don't want to sound rude, but you do know you can buy both Dragons lair AND Space Ace for the PC don't you?
I've got them both and while they don't play as smoothly as they did in the arcades, they are worth the money (less than a tenner each) for a hell of a nostalgia trip.

Probably Pole Position or something like it. Was a top down racing game and you had a steering wheel to just go left/right. Used to take the old large 10p pieces. Also remember erm that 1942 flying game. That's probably the earliest, those table top games like Space Invaders too, but they had been around for sometime. Must've been 1985/86 having (I'm 25).

at the cinema near to me in 1989-92 ish they had turtles 4player, simpsons 4player. toki, crude buster, midnight resistance, some football thing probably itaila 90, robocop!, golden axe, moonwalker, hard drivin', pit fighter. Still play them all now on mame. Wanted a turtles arcade machine 18 years ago and still want one now !
