...suck when you have to get up and go to work (long commute to a client's office).

However, there are some benefits. The buildings over at Canary Wharf were lit up like gold for just a few moments this morning. I sacrificed breakfast to take a few shots.

One of these days I'm going to have to get up to shoot some sunrises at a suitably scenic location.

thank you so much for sharing that with us, i would say it was worth sacrificing breakfast for..thanks mate its a beauty...

i wish that crane could have moved out of the way - spoil sport ;)

any chance you could email it to me please? I like using them for desktop wallpapers etc...

thanks

I think I still have one of your other shots of the same pic taken at night...great stuff mate :)

p.s. is that the view from your office?

Sorry, I was trying to work out where it was taken from - the writing on the buildings mean it obviously isn't flipped. Dur......

Sure - let me know what size you want and I'll do it tonight when I get home.

Nope, it's the view from my flat balcony. I live on the Greenwich Peninsula, about 10mins walk from the Millennium Dome. link

I'm moving in a few days though.

No worries - I was just confused as to why you thought it was flipped, when you can see Citigroup, Barclays etc written normally! :)

Thanks for all the comments! Any criticisms - I wasn't sure whether it is correctly exposed - the histogram looked okay, but it seems a bit dim?

Additionally - does anyone know of any great locations for early morning sunrise shots - preferably around south west London?

Nice shot :) . The golden effect is literally gold. The windows in those buildings have a very thin layer of gold in them to reduce the suns intensity/greenhouse effect in the offices. In the right angles you can see it reflect a bit.

I did try playing with the WB on this, but kept it 'as shot' in the end. This is actually how the buildings/sky looked!

'Red sky at morning...' - yep, it rained all day!
