Not quite the Sharp MD33, but you can get the Creative EP-630 which are effectively the same pair of earphones differently badged, for £19 with free delivery if you look in the right places.

I have been reliably informed that the Creative buds here at OcUK are rebadged md33s. So, that's £19.92.

I have them (not knowing their origin) - pretty good sounds!

In what ways are the 500s better? seems strange that the 550's would be newer and more expensive if they are.

I'm thinking of buying some Sennheiser CX 300s, their first ear-canal earphones apparently. Can find them for around £35, and Ive only heard good things about them so far. Does anyone have any experience with them?

The 550s have a cleaners mid and high end, but are very lacking on the bass side, whereas the 500s are slightly worse for mids and highs but the bass is much better.

However, i have the 500s and do not find them very bassy at all.

They aren't as good overall, but they're the same drivers.
