I am in the process of completing an application for job with Capgemini.
One of the desired skills is a working knowledge of EARS.
Tried googling, but a bit difficult to narrow down the results as I havent come across it before.

Any info would be great! :)

Small point, if you don't know what EARS is then aren't you lacking one of the desired skills?

No, because a lot of times companies use different names for things or (as a quick google shows) there are lots of EARS acronyms

Which makes it pointless to ask on a forum and have 50 wrong answers given then?

Best to ask them directly.

Or even better, go to Capgemini website and put EARS into their website search engine which lists 18 success stories involving Capgemini and their use of EARS.

So it is as per Simulatorman states.

I do sometimes wonder where people's initiative have gone nowadays.......

Thanks for all the input - some useful points made :)

The 'desirable' skills are just that. I consider these to be the bonus skills beyond the essential skills.
The job market 'round here is diabolical ICT wise, so sadly I cant pick and choose. If you happen to know any better employers hiring in my area I'm all EARS!
Granted I hadnt heard of EARS before, but have used umpteen helpdesk systems so I doubt it will present any significant hurdles for me. I wouldnt dream of phoning someone and more or less admitting point blank that I didnt know what it was....hardly makes for a promising application.

Extended Action Request System.

It's rubbish.

It's a chop job on Remedy for fault call logging and change reques authorisation, it is pretty average as is every other Remedy install I've ever laid eyes on. I've never seen the base package but as soon as companies start customising it they seem to get caught in a web of not delivering what the end user actually wants or needs but what middle managment thinks is important.

Anyways back on topic I'd never heard of it before I joined Cap and assuming you have an IQ in double figures you'll be able to pick it up in about 5 minutes once someone explains the crazy way it's been setup.
