i think its more like people didn't know what was happening. i thought i was having some sort of fit or really vivid dream

The folks back home in Notts were woken up by it, didn't feel a thing down in Exeter, which is understandable. Mildly exciting though :)

The News said:
"I was woken up. It was hell,"

''I Pulled out my air rifle from underneath the bed, i thought it was terrorists''

Think its the first time i rofl'd at the news for quite some time, i cant really talk though, was up at 6am watching random news channels about it for 2-3 hours :p.

but seriously some people :D

I was woke up my the sound of my radiator shaking like crazy, didn't have a clue what was going on so I just got up, switched the heating off and went back to sleep lol. Only found out this morning it was an earthquake.

Ah well, I survived. So for the future, my advice is:

IF YOU THINK THERE IS AN EARTHQUAKE, TURN YOUR HEATING OFF TO SURVIVE !

Yea, I felt it - thought my damn roof was coming in, was like someone dropped a fridge on the ceiling! Woke up on the dot at just around 1, couldn't work out for the life of me what was going on but now all clear!

How cool! Really did slam a fair bit, didn't it!

Well this explains what the rumble I felt last night was, my bed was jiggling about all over the room and I thought I was dreaming :o

Housemates didn't believe me till they saw the BBC article!

i personally thought we were getting bombed by nukes or something.

Or emergence day :P

and WTF... Why were people ringing the emergency services? Have people got nothing better to do?

Ring ring, we've just had an earthquake! good for you -PHONE DOWN-
Ring ring, the ground just shook! good for you -PHONE DOWN-

Wow, this is a big thread. I spoke to a few people last night who slept through it. There's no way I could have, I would have fallen out of bed if I'd been asleep.

I slept through it was so tired.

Was awake in the last one, felt like a massive lorry/truck starting up its massive engine ontop of our house.

How high can earthquakes go? I heard last nights was 5.2 ish, our highest was 6.1, but how high do they do?
