Hey. I currently just use my main PC and a wired connection through a Netgear router when at home, but also have a wireless USB stick for using when Im away at uni. Im thinking of building up a mini ITX system for putting in the front room basically as a media pc and for streaming media from the internet too (youtube, spotify etc).

Basically just wondering what the easiest way is to add it to my network? Is there a way to bridge the connection? So my main PC uses the wired connection, but then connects using the USB stick wirelessly to the media PC? Ive never really messed round with networks much before aside from just setting up a wireless router at uni and Im wondering if that would just be a better idea? Sell my current one and get a new wireless router? Would cost a little extra but I imagine it to be easiest.

Cheers for any help :)

Is your current router a wireless capable one or just an ADSL router? If you wire the media pc directly or use USB sticks, they will be on the same network, so in theory it should work ok.

The current one here isnt wireless, would have been fine if it was. I cant really wire it directly as the router is upstairs and the media PC would be down in the front room.

But you think if I got a wireless router it would be easiest? Know what Im doing with that as well so hopefully wont go wrong :p

Would think buying a wireless router would be easiest.

Also you wouldn't need to depend on leaving your main PC on, if you wanted to browse the internet on your media PC.
