I have a 300GB drive from a few years back that I took out and stored as an emergency back up when upgrading to a 640GB drive. I've since upgraded again and have decided it would be handy to reinstall the 300GB drive for storage.

It currently has two partitions - what's the easiest way to format the entire drive and delete the partitions in the process?

disk manager ?

start > control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk management

highlight the required drive delete both partitions ... then .... FORMAT :)

Just delete both and remake a single partition:

IMPORTANT: ENSURE YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE RIGHT DRIVE IF MUTLIPLES ARE INSTALLED.

RIGHT CLOCK ON MY COMPUTER> MANAGE>disk management, then Right click on the drive, DELETE partion, then DELETE the primary then remake ONE partition for the whole size of the drive and it will ask you to format as a matter of course. Choose quick then let the wizard do its thing :)

This way you will have one partition with a clean formatted partition.

edit: bugger how did I miss the earlier post :o
