Easy way to copy all data?

Hey, so I've just ordered a Samsung F3 1TB hdd, and it should be here tomorrow morning.

I'm wondering what the simplest and quickest way of transfering everything from my old drive to the new drive is.

Once it's initialized is it easiest to just drag and drop the entire contents?

Is it simply data files, or do you wish to copy across your installation and installed programs in such a way to use the new drive as a boot drive?

Drag and drop will work find for data files, but will fail if you try to move a windows folder/installation etc.

Yea it's the whole thing. OS and installed programs. Possible?

You could use something like acronis to image it across

Does that acronis free trial actually work then? Free trials normally finish with "this is how easy your file migration would have been. Upgrade now and experience something actually happening!"

Never mind, I see it says fully functional, just time limited.
