Anybody had any experience with them?

Im currently stuck in Berlin, was meant to fly out to Gatwick earlier today.. The flight got canceled, like all the others. When we got to the airport though there wasnt a single easyjet staff, the people that were still there said the staff walked out of the stall when the queue got too big. All their phone lines are also closed.

According to their ToC were entitled to a reasonable cost for accomodation and 20 GBP a day for food, drink etc. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with how it works, what reasonable is considered etc.

Flight is delayed for 4 days, Ive ran out of money near enough after spending new years here, and Im meant to have exams on the 9th.. Sigh.

Are you at Schoenefeld?

I don't think they will give you anything if its due to bad weather as this is "exceptional circumstances"

Yeah, I can imagine.. There was nothing open, so did a runner back to central Berlin. Was meant to be on the 2120 or so to Gatwick.. Now according to the website the next flight isnt until Sunday. Absolute joke.

I couldnt find anything about the 20 pound allowance either. When we were at the airport a guy at the front of the queue realised he was going to be the last one to be able to get through to their line, so he asked a load of questions and announced it to everyone who was waiting behind him.. Thats what he got told apparently.

Tbh POB, that was my expectation as well.. But turns out, they will. Dont know how hard its going to be actually getting any money off them, but apparently I should be able to.

easyjet were really nice to me a few weeks ago when all the luton flights got cancelled out of belfast and got me on the one that was working :) (and quietly didnt tell all the gatwick people they could be moved as there wasnt space)

i felt all warm inside

sorry dont know how getting extra stuff out of them works though :(

Better hope someone turns up tomorrow then, sounds like a horrible situation. There is a flight on Saturday, but its €190, which is far too much.

Sounds silly, but there's a flight to Bristol today departing at 21:25, can they not stick you on that one and arrange to get to London from there? I don't know how cancellations etc work, but it's better than nothing I guess.

Yeah, cant afford that by any means.. That last week before the next lot of student loan is a killer :)

Apparently not, according to their ToC you have to fly the same route as you originally booked.

my flight from Boston to Heathrow tomorrow got cancelled today. Luckly i'm not in your situation as i'm at my inlaws.

did you get travel insurance ?

We had a cancellation listed, if you log into the site it should let you move to any identical flight (same destination and place of departure) within 30 days for free.

If you can always stick to doing things online.

Yeah, thats the only option really. Went back to the airport today, all other flights are around 300GBP. Apparently if I book another flight they will refund me, but it will take around 3 months and I dont have the cash in the first place without borrowing it off my mum, which Id rather not do.

Doesnt help my uni is being useless, and doesnt know if this is good enough reason to miss mz exams and deadlines..

We were due to fly to Glasgow on the 22nd from Stansted. We waited around for four hours whilst they repeatedly delayed the flight, only to eventually cancel it.

The airport staff tried to find an EasyJet representative to explain why the flight had been cancelled and what we could do, but apparently they'd all gone home for the night and none were available. Wasn't too impressed at that.

We're getting our money back for the flights but I'm not sure about the carpark.

Some people from another forum were also stuck in Berlin when flying with Easyjet, I think they were stuck there for an extra 3-4 days in total and they had to get family back home to ring them up to rebook their flights.

According to my travel insurance:

Important
Under the new travel directive from the European Union (EU), you are entitled to claim compensation from your
airline if any of the following happen.
1 You are not allowed to board or your flight is cancelled. If you check-in on time but you are not allowed to board because there are too many passengers for the number of seats available or your flight is cancelled, the airline operating the flight must offer you financial compensation.
2 There are long delays. If you are delayed for two hours or more, the airline must offer you meals and refreshments, hotel accommodation and communication facilities. If you are delayed for more than five hours, the airline must also offer to refund your ticket.
3 Your baggage is damaged, lost or delayed. If your checked-in baggage is damaged or lost by an EU airline, you must make a claim to the airline within seven days. If your checked-in baggage is delayed, you must make a claim to the airline within 21 days of when you get your baggage back.
4 You are injured or die in an accident. If you are injured in an accident on a flight by an EU airline, you may claim damages from the airline. If you die as a result of these injuries your family may claim damages from the airline.
5 You do not receive the services you have booked. If your tour operator does not provide the services you have booked, for example, any flights or a part of your package holiday, you may claim damages from the tour operator.

By this you should be able to claim something.
