Easyjet question!

The problem is people abuse it. Ive seen women with "handbags" bigger than their hold luggage bag before.

A small clutch bag/purse is obviously acceptable but where/how do you draw the line?

And which airline is it recently who announced that 2 bags would be allowed but once a certain number of cabin bags are booked in everybody else needs to put their bag in the hold? So if your are not a priority customer or first in the queue at the loading desk then your bag full of valuables and expensive equipment gets lobbed in the hold

Also with the last budget airline I flew with they had a random spot check at the gate with the size frame and also some scales and checked every bag which looked suspect. About half the people bags in the queue didnt fit or were overweight and had to go into the hold at extra cost. Lots of very unhappy people and arguments occurred. Some people were blatant though with those large gym equipment bags which would have no chance of going in the small frame checker.

Thanks guys, I've got her to put everything into one bag.

Interestingly Air Lingus were fine about it when I flew back from Dublin a few weeks ago, one of the better cheap operators.

Just buy something in duty free and place the handbag or whatever in that as you're allowed to carry that onboard additionally.

well spotted. i was just sharing.

it's a lot better now they allow you to take the extra bag on for free. it isn't tiny and holds my gadgets

The last time and only time I flew with Easyjet it was 1 piece of hand luggage only.

Whenever I fly to Europe I use sky scanner and if easy jet comes up, after I add on things like extra bags, it's very small difference to BA...always ended up on BA because of that.

Plus you get free alcohol in flight! (Not that I drink) not to mention BA's hand luggage limit is silly at 23kg.

Exactly. I get 2 hold bags free (had 2 which were 35kg before which they let for free just had a heavy sticker on) and 2 cabin bags. You can take anything!
If you drink 4 bottles of Champagne in an hours flight, I think you've got your money back.

EasyJet sometimes you can't avoid using as they fly routes you can't get other carriers. They are particularly strict on their 1 bag policy though.

Help please guys!

Mrs is flying with Easyjet tomorrow morning and is only taking hand luggage. She has one bag packed and was under the impression she could take a smaller bag as well, however has just checked on the Easyjet website and it says that you can only take a 2nd piece of hand luggage if you're an Easyjet Flex, plus or upfront customer.

Can anyone confirm this? She does not fall under any of those groups listed above.

I only used them a couple weeks ago and I paid for 1 main bag up to 20kg each way and I had hand luggage that was FREE , I'm pretty sure this is the case with ryianair as well.

Don't think you can take two bags on the plane , 1 Free hand luggage each.

There isn't a weight limit with hand luggage on EasyJet; just a limit on the physical size of the bag.

With regards to hand luggage, it's one bag only. Usually you can get away with stuffing your second bag/handbag/laptop bag etc into your main hand luggage bag prior to boarding and then pulling it out (and storing it under your seat) once on the 'plane.

It's not that much more to seat select and priority board is it? I always aim for this when using cheaper airlines as it means I can get some extra leg room, board first ,which is a big advantage when you want your hand luggage above you and not 15 seats back and means I have the hand baggage flexibility if I need it. Money well spent though to be fair most airlines these days allow hand bag of fixed size plus a laptop/hand bag in cabin.
