Eating the Pizza Slice......Upside Down?!

I used to have to go away to foreign parts as part of my job. We always took a toaster with us. Not just to make toast, but to reheat pizza slices when they were cold.
Simply lay the toaster on it's side, depress the toaster lever and slide the pizza slice into the slot. Oh, I forgot about the wicket keeping gloves, to catch the hot pizza slices when they were ejected sideways from the toaster. Living like kings.

How do you even hold a slice of pizza upside down? Surely your supporting hand would be in the sauce / cheese / toppings? I'm not really an eating with hands kind of guy anyway. Some things lend themselves well to it (sandwiches being the obvious example) but for most food it's just messy. Yanks find it funny that anyway would use a knife and fork to eat pizza though.

I will add that some pizza lends itself much better to being picked up than others. If it's super sloppy then you obviously end up wearing half of it, and the toppings on some of them tend to be hard to bite through completely so you end up pulling the whole lot off in one mouthful and if it's hot then that ******* hurts.

you know that in italy, pizza basically is their sandwich. Which they eat with their hands. Go to any authentic local bakery and theyll have racks of freshly made cold cut pizza that you buy and consume just like you would a sandwich. Perhaps with an espresso. Standing up. Belissimo

Somewhat related nan bread/chapatti in the Indian restaurant, you guys use your hands for that right? In fact its possible to eat a whole indian meal without cutlery. Dont tell me you cut your nan bread with a knife and fork

Fair enough - it definitely works better when it's cold because it all stays together and you can bite it easier. The only pizzas I remember having in Italy (I was young) were served hot on a plate though like here, and I'm pretty sure I used a knife and fork. Not sure whether the restaurateurs approved or not :p

You know who else eats Pizza with a knife & fork ? Donald Trump, never trust a person who eats pizza with a knife & fork
Presidential puppets are actually quite easily trained.
Donald Trump does many things that a civilised person does... doesn't mean you should eschew them. He wears clothing and wipes his own backside, for example.

In Italy, many restaurants serve pizza uncut and piping hot, so use of cutlery is not only strongly advised but very commonplace.
Of course regions vary and if you ask a hundred different people you'll get 150 different answers... but if you're wanting to pick it up and scoff it like a sarnie, why not just get a calzone?
