Is there any difference between Ebays 30 day return or buying direct from a UK website when paying with Paypal , Are they both the same or is one better than the other when it comes to returning items you're not satisfied with?

I hate sending stuff back as it means someone else gets something that's already been opened but it seems to be the only way you can find out the hardware version of an item as support rarely knows what stock they have.

I just wondered if Ebay had any better protection against any types of hidden restocking charges or partial refunds that some sites threaten you with to try and force you to keep an item that is of no use too you.

Yes as above. If you're worried about restocking fees then eBay is probably the better option. It is worth checking to make sure the seller accepts returns before buying.

Cheers all for the feedback , I know amazon does no quibble returns but they seem to be getting expensive.

Plus it's annoying when you ask a question in the comment section what version a board is and you get 3 different answers. :)

buy from ebay - they have to provide you with means of postage.

buy from wesbite you return at your own cost.

On Ebay if you put a reason for return that isn't your fault (item not as described for example) then you shouldn't have to pay return postage.

Noticed quite a few companies want you to pay to send something back now which can sometimes be more expensive than the item.

This is because people don't realize that the question is not directed at them, and more a of a general "can you answer this question" type of question.

I love the answers that go ... "No sorry, didn't use it for that purpose" or the "No sorry, bought it but sent it back due to damaged box"

Remember also, paypal offer free return postage up to 12 times per year if you pay with them

Or just "I don't know".
Brilliant :p

For damaged items or items not as described on eBay, I'm getting different answers on Google. It's either 30, 45, 60 or 90 days. Any idea which one it is?

If you paid by PayPal though, then you're protected for 180 days. I'm not sure why it would take someone half a year only for them to say that it's not as described or they don't like the item and then goes on to rinse the seller.
