Hi guys,

I need a little advice on eBay and Paypal. I've just sold an item worth a lot of money and the guy has paid via Paypal. I went in to my Paypal account and accepted the money. Now, does that mean the money is mine 100% and when I send the item out he can't request it back? I've heard of scams involving paypal and people withdrawing the money back after "paying" so just want to make sure I'm not going to be duped!

Thanks for any replies, any information would be really helpful!

transfer it to your bank if your worried befre posting. if his feedback is good then dont be worried

Once it's in your Paypal account it's safe.

He can request it back later , if the item is faulty etc.

I use Paypal for Ebay , no problems in 100+ transactions.

Cheers,

Mark

Send the item via a recorded method, that way he can't do a chargeback for "item not received". In the event that someone does make a claim for non-receipt of goods, Paypal request the seller furnish them with a tracking number. If they then see that the item has been delivered and signed for, then the seller is in the clear.

I've had a problem with eBay. None of my positive feedback has been registered in the count recently. About 10 +s ignored. Any reason why?

Members who left a positive: 72
Members who left a negative: 0
All positive feedback received: 82

WTF? Why are they different!?

You only gain one feedback point from each UNIQUE buyer/seller.

So If I bought two items off of you and left +ve feedback for each your score would only go up by one, although "all positive feedback" would go up by 2.

Multiple feedback from the same member doesn't count. It's eBay's way of stopping people from artificially inflating their feedback scores.

That's stupid. Why on earth does the system work like that?

Thanks for answering my question though.

(Sees above post) ah right :D

Ok, cool. His feedback has 2 bad in the last 6 months with say around 12 positive but the negs were for slow payments but non for no payment. I think I will post it off tomorrow using Royal Mail special delivery. I think that's signed for, yes?

Kudos everyone for the replies, they could save me a lot of hassle and grief!!

EDIT: The address is not approved, it's unconfirmed in Paypal

They can claim it back as said before, only f its damaged etc...
Send it recorded though WITH a tracking number.

Also, put it in your bank account, and I'd close paypal account if your that worried once you have transferred to bank account..
