Ebay are useless

Wasn't really in the middle of using the service as I read the OP's first post.

I usually go on holiday right after I sell stuff on ebay simply because I do it at the end of the academic year before July/August.

M8, someone tried the following

The said the item was as described. (it was)

They lost. Then they appealed againt it.
They lost this as well.

Oh guess what happend next...

The complained that someone had hacked their account.... So they ended up getting their money back...

I mean, come on, why would a hacker complain about not as described, TWICE!!

I will never use ebay again. or paypal. EVER!

Hold on... Maybe someone is hacking my account right now... Mmm, now want do I want for free...

Someome should make a poll

"Used Ebay A LOT and Hate"
"Used Ebay A LOT and Love"
"Used Ebay a LITTLE and Hate"
etc

I have a feeling that most people hate it :D

I stopped with ebay last year after a seller by-passed the complaints procedure and complained to ebay direct over non payment. The payment, a cheque, was sent through the post and it never arrived it seems.

So instead of contacting me first, as they were meant to, to see what was going on they decided to complain direct to ebay and first i knew i had a problem was when the ebay complaints mail came informing me what was going on.

When i contacted them they thought i should have been more interested in why a book hadn't arrived than my life and it's issues. At that time i was getting over the separation bombshell from my wife so ebay was the least of my worries.

I did make a complaint to ebay stating at no time did the seller contact me over the lost payment but nothing ever came of it. Still it isn't any loss as ebay has gone downhill and will not recover as it is a scammer/liars/conning paradise for people.

Only place i will ever sell any stuff now is in the members market here.

Ebay is a bit of a joke. The feedback system for example. You leave negative feedback because you have a genuine beef, you get negative feedback for 'revenge'.

Having said that I still use it when I find some crap cheap on the highstreet/online and I knock it out cheap for a few quid profit :o

I don't even remember my e-bay handle anymore it's been so long. Even if I did remember it the e-mail used for it is long since dead, the e-mail for my paypal account is long since dead, and the credit card used for paypal is long since dead as is the bank account attatched to paypal account.

So going back to e-bay would be a complete hassle as I'd have to set up from scratch. And I would imagine just one little scrap of info that was the same as my original account would trigger a double account warning anyways.

So even if I were inclined to even go look, I couldn't anyways.

I don't sell on ebay only buy and the fact that it took so long to complain AND he lead positive feedback makes me think your right he's pulling a fast one, perhaps he's decided he could have got a better one elsewhere etc and changed his mind.

Once you leave feedback it should be too late to complain, I never leave feedback until I've checked everything!

He's a muppet, hope you get your account sorted. If I was to sell anything i'd only do it on the OCUK MM these days, no way I'd go near ebay!

Did you not read my OP?

I 'bolded' the bits which are relevant to you.

The buyer complained 2 months after I sold the goods.
But you said 2 weeks in your original post

Just a question regarding the postage.. how much did you charge them originally for posting the item? £15 is a bit steep for returning it.

He also says in the next sentence that the buyer officially filed a complaint to ebay two months later :p

Could not agree with you more. eBay has really lost its charm and has become a scam breeding ground. I only really sold PC bits on eBay so now I just use the Member's Market :)

tbh i wouldn't give into that.

i've stopped using ebay for a long time now, i just don't find it that great anymore. you can find things cheaper on the net (when you put postage into account) and many things don't seem to be at the point of it being worth it to you.

it's only good for collectors and specialised things imo. but all to your own.

I know, so true. The day of bargains and worthyness of selling and buying on there are over. I was looking for a DVD the otherday, went to 9.99 on there and its 6.99 at amazon brand new lol. People love bidding.

The buyer complained to me 2 weeks later, and to ebay 2 months later.

Initial shipping charges were about 7 pounds I think so I don't know where the 15 pounds has come from.
