Winner of one of my auctions is local so wants to pick up - cash on collection.

Not done this before so what do you do on the actual auction to close it off?

Also they only have 1 feedback which is from a year ago so are there any potential scams to be aware of other than fake cash?

The auction's already closed the person won your item. Just tell him to pop round for the item and give you cash.

This, also if you are selling something small like a mobile phone etc... make sure they dont swap it for a dummy one and make some excuse to leave.

I always prefer to pick items up if I can , this way if they are willing to let you know were they live I doubt they are going to rip you of. I would imagen who ever won your item is thinking the same thing

Ok cool - I assume as there is no Paypal involvement then any disputes raised would be pointless for the buyer?

then wait for the dispute when he never receives it!

Then when ebay/paypal ask for a tracking number you do not have one....
He gets a refund

LOL GD

Get his address from ebay and take up a boxing stance.

e: Oh god, why is it yellow?!

so the OP actually reads it as you are not covered by cash on collection with ebay it is not a valid payment method.

he's going to get scammed listening to all these people

people are telling him to mark his auction as paid..... and then to mark is as dispatched ...

What do you think happens when he fails to provide a tracking number with proof of delivery?

Elaborate troll. If there is no online payment made then there's no online payment to be refunded.

If buyer goes to seller, pays, receives item, then goes home and says he didn't receive, then what exactly are ebay going to do to the seller? Nothing
