Ebay Company stealing peoples photo's to sell!

Get in touch with eBay, make them aware? Get store closed down, problem solved?

If you're feeling particularly mean I'm pretty sure there's some legal process of copyright infringement you could go through....

Edit:

As a side point, would it be worth not uploading pictures in future that would go to that quality.

I don't think I have easily accessible photos anywhere beyond a 1000px longest edge. Whilst not the greatest deterrent, it certainly helps.

Also, watermarking them wouldn't be a bad idea.

If you google image search Herne Bay beach huts there is an unwatermarked result in in a reasonable resolution... not saying it's right though. Get water marking!

Ask them for credit and a cut of profits or threaten action

Nice image too, you're a multi-talented man Neil ;)

Looking at his ebay page, well he or she, they've got copyright problems all over the place there. Makes you wonder exactly how much checking ebay actually does!

I've given up on photography for awhile now, this sort of thing doesn't improve things...

Sigh

I'm sorry to hear that, Neil. However, I see that your issue here is being handled by a relevant department. I would therefore need to transfer you to them. May I go ahead and transfer you now?

I was contacted by a family member that noticed the photography as one of mine

Whilst customer services people are often frustrating, remember they're doing that job for a reason in many cases...

(No offence meant to anyone who is, as I have dealt with some fantastic customer service people before, they're just few and far between....)

I wouldn't worry. They're just not allowed to deviate from script, probably for legal reasons. They'll most likely remove the item soon :)

Wonder if he's sold any yet. If so, would you get the money?

Kenny ****
Could you please let me know the original item number of yours?

v.te****
Parden?, there is no original Item number.... Please understand

head...bang...wall !!
good luck with this, hope his ebay gets closed or they make him pay for lack of copyright.

Probably not, but I had this strong feeling I was talking to an Indian... The same scripted responses!

Completely ignoring what I was saying, Like an Indian at BT customer support saying is your Internet on and log into IE, when clearly you phoned up and explained your internet is DOWN.

Treading a fine line between pacifying a customer who is often rude, wrong or just plain stupid and not opening yourself (and your employer) up for more agro, while dealing with several live chats concurrently in a busy, noisy environment. Half way around the world. In the middle of the night local time. In a language that isn't your mother tongue

CS is easy work for monkeys

(I don't work in CS btw)

Why does it have anything to do with him being "An Indian"? Haven't you have had "White" customer services people who are incompetent?

So what you're really complaining about is that you felt the guy you dealt with didn't satisfy your request.

Why you have to assume he's "an Indian" just because it didn't go the way you wanted it is just pathetic.

Here's an idea, why don't you contact the seller and try sorting something out there? See what they've got to say for themselves, they might be reasonable.

If they're not reasonable, you can then make a follow up post about how they must also be "an Indian" because they didn't do what you wanted.

Whilst I totally understand what you were saying in that chat log, you could have spelt it out better to be honest. I know you shouldn't have to but...he clearly did not understand the issue fully. If you get over to any camera forum, this thing happens day in day out and there are recommended processes for dealing with copyrighted images. i.e. Invoicing them and/or taking them to court etc.
In future, use a watermark and upload a lower res pic. I just found the same pic on talkphotography and deviant art in about 5 seconds from a quick google of "Herne Bay beach hut".

It has a lot to do with him being Indian. Playing the race card here is embarrasing to read. Get a grip.

It's not really the fact that he's Indian I'm guessing... Just the fact that he's probably foreign so English isn't his first language which makes getting your point across that much harder. It's frustrating but this is the world we live in so I try to be polite and patient otherwise I'll just have to repeat myself to the next person I have to speak to lol

Well I'll deal with it better tomorrow, I've had a really really bad day today and this just pushed it over the limit.

It has a lot to do with him being Indian. Playing the race card here is embarrasing to read. Get a grip.

He's assuming that he's Indian based on the fact that he didn't get the result he wanted.

That's the issue, not "maybe English isn't his first language so my point didn't get across too well" but "he must be an Indian".

Well that's annoying, his misunderstanding may mean that they just pull down the listing. Presumably though, it gets passed on to a more senior department, but even then, they are expecting to see that you have an item number, rather than it being stolen from elsewhere.

It would be a poor outcome if the seller isn't suspended completely.
