Ebay - Echeque safe?

Somebody bought my item with an ECheque on Paypal, is this safe? I know i should despatch once it's cleared...But is there any scams i should know about?

It just means they don't have funds in their Paypal account and only have uber slow sources linked.

Just wait till it clears before you post the item.

its like a paypal bank transfer, they take the money via direct debit from the payers account then put it in yours

don't echeques take longer to clear than normal cheques ?

I think the last one I got took about a week to clear, the e in echeque is misleading, you expect it to be quick
