Ebay Feedback Updates

Another update that they have made is that neutral feedback counts towards percentages in your feedback - which is horrible for me because I have all postive apart from one stupid neutral 9 months back and since I only have 71 feedback I have a 98.1% feedback rating :(

No one cares about a couple of negative or neutral ratings. You make it sound like the end of the world. It makes perfect sense to use neutrals towards your percentage. If you don't agree with what they wrote do a follow up.

I suppose your right - however people that have never used eBay before may be put off because I don't have 100% feedback rating :(

If they think that there not worth dealing with. It's like people who shaft a company because of a single delivery. If you volume sell some point or another the item won't arrive, get lost or get damaged. Most people will look fr negative/neutral comments read them and read the response and decide who was at fault.

I've become less happy with ebay over the past few years. started out great then there seemed to be a massive infux of scammers, twice i had money nicked off me basically from a seller and a buyer, both 100% feedback and a number of previous transactions. Had 100% positive feedback after 65 or so transactions, my positive feedback is now 80% as i've made 5 buys/sales in the past 6months and one guy gave me a neutral for what im pretty sure is a made up reason.

Also has paypal changed how it functions? I remember once you withdrew money, they took 10% or whatever it was. But now they automatically take 10% as soon as there is a deposit into the paypal account? Whats the deal with that :( ?

For what its worth, thats what I do. Open up the feedback untill I see one that isn't green, then weigh up what those say against how many positives there are.

Ebay is ruined for me now, what with the ludicrous new search that doesn't work, hidden bidders, bidder1 bidder2 etc etc (shillers anyone?) & now feedback.
I have stopped using it. Shame really it was good fun. Just have to find a valid replacement now.

something needed to be done as buyers are relectant to give bad feedback if a deal goes wrong in fear of retaliation, but i agree that this was not the right solution

i think it's good,i was held by a company on e-bay to leave them good feedback or they would leave me bad,now this new system is very good and i hope it will give buyer's a good fighting chance over some of these crap seller's.

ebay is rubbish with feedback and as they own paypal it makes it worse. i have sold 3 things on ebay in the past month. all 3 they said they havent had it and i have lost over £100 because paypal have give them the money back and i have gone to royal mail to say something and they said its your fault that we didnt deliver it because you didnt make it signed for !!! so spending £4.00 to post something 3 times means we wont post it for you but you never know you maybe lucky and we may post it!

HATE EBAY, Closed my account down because the buyers have to much power!

Sending something recorded or special delivery is obvious.

Some CAN be delivered and the buyer can say its not arrived unless its tracked.

Sending it without that is your own fault, nothing to do with RM.

all they are doing is giving the protection buyers get through the card scheme chargback system to people buying from people who don't accept credit cards explicitly.

At the end of the day if you play by the rules, post items in a way that can be tracked theres nothing a scammer can do. the protection goes both ways....

unfortunatly there will always be people that try and scam the unwary, its a big bad world and there will always be people trying to scam the system. eBay/PayPal has the un-enviable position of trying to arbitrate between honest and dis-honest parties when in reality they could just tell them to naff off. There will always be people who get screwed over, but if you don't like it then go buy your stuff from the shops and sell it in car boot sales :)

I have 100% good of 62 feedback, and I have had to give a buyer bad feedback before (this buyer accepted his stupidity and left me good feedback).
