Right I am experiencing a little difficulty on ebay and need some help.

I bought an item from an ebay seller about 2 weeks ago, and paid over the phone by credit card (it was a shop listing stock on ebay). When I spoke to the person on the phone he offered me another item as well, which I accepted as I needed one anyway.

I received the items 3 days later, the item I won on ebay was fine and exactly as described but the item I had agreed to buy over the phone was wrong. I sent the seller an email and he asked me to send the item back with a note and he would send out the correct item, which I did last week.

So yesterday I sent the seller an email enquiring about my replacement and have so far received no response. I am going to give the seller the rest of the day and then phone tomorrow, but the whole situation has got me worried.

Although I bought item 1 through ebay item 2 was bought over the phone so there is no record of it, and I assume ebay will not be interested since it wasn't bought through them. I did pay using Mastercard, but as I have no receipt for the item does this mean that they won't be able to help me?

youve got his number and address, i dont think he ll be getting away with it. Ring him if your in doubt, if no answer proceed to plan b and arrive at his doorstep :)

This is nothing to do with eBay i'm afraid. You will have to deal with this between yourself and the shop involved.

Thats what I thought, but since I have no proof of ordering the second item will the bank statement showing the amount paid for both items be enough?

ring mastercard, they have records of the transfer surely?

They will do, but since the second item was about £15 and the first item was quite heavy and was sent faster shipping than advertised I am worried that without any receipt the seller could just state that the extra amount was for an upgraded shipping method.

just say you didnt recieve any and have them chase the full amount, that will soon get him contacting you.

Seller could be scamming many people like this offering them items outside of ebay. You have no proof of anything in connection with the 2nd item, other than paying him.

Was the payment in one go for both items, or did you pay individually for each?

Either way, not much you can do other than hope the seller sends you it.

As said, this isn't an issue with eBay. They'll have no transactional information on this and won't be able to help you. You need to get hold of the guy who originally sold it to you over the phone and sort something out with him.

Well another day has passed and no response, which is suspicious because of the amount of time it took to respond to previous queries.

I'll give the seller until tomorrow afternoon then call and try and find out whats going on as its entirely possible its just an honest mistake.
