Hello.
I have sold a PS4 on ebay and the buyer received the item today. I sent it on tracked and signature required. It was signed for at 12.20

At 18:05 he sent me a message 'Thanks, I ve received it :)'
At 19:44 'Hi, the ps4 is not turning on at all, the power is turning on but then switching back off. It has a slight mark on the left side, has it been bumped?'

The PS4 was fully functional and I made sure I wrapped it up properly. So I am not sure why he was having that problem.

At 19:46 'I can send a video of the problem and pictures of the bump?'

So I said sure and just asked to try putting in power lead on its own or different orientation or try different socket as I could not really believe it.

I then get an email
'New Significantly Not as Described Dispute'
'persons' name has opened a dispute indicating that the item they received did not match the original
description.

Then i get another message at 20:19
'Hi,
My boyfriend has tried numerous different things to get it working, the power turns on but that goes straight back off'

So what should I do now?
What could I do?
The buyers feedback is 100% so I am not sure what has happen
Thanks.

Did'nt really check the serial number? IS the the cuh xxxx part? I have that
Also, do I tell him to send it tracked and signature required?
Do I refund once I have item?

Anyways,
I sent her this message
'Could you try this please
If it still does not work, could you please send it back. Send it with tracking and signature req.
Once received, I will check if all the serial numbers match and will then send the refund on same day.
Thanks.'
Reply was
'Hi, I'll try this after work today and let you know.'
Then today
'Hi I've tried this, still not working. I'm more the willing to send the item back to you but I'm sure you know this won't be cheap. Are you going to pay the postage for me to send it back? I don't think it'd be fair for me to be out of pocket'
... :S

I told that she can p&p for less then around £7. She has not answered since then which was two days ago.
Today Paypal send me an email

Buyer is quite far away so picking it up would be hard, even harder since I do not drive yet.
@BDEE I have sent you a message via trust regarding that person
@thebennyboy What happens if I refuse? Does not sound good :(

Also, would paypal force me to refund even if she has not sent the item back?
And also, when i send a message via trust, do i get the return message on my email?

Thanks.

Would I have to refund £260 and still pay the ebay and paypal fee?
Also, If I do go Blackburn and go to the address, what am I meant to do? Bottle them? O_o

Ok so atm, I should wait and hope he goes over the 10day limit?
Also, buyer is literally not responding to anything. Even when i asked him for a pic or vid...

The buyer has had his say to paypal. They are now reviewing the case.

Awaiting other party's response - PayPal requests more information from the buyer to resolve the issue. If the buyer doesn't respond within the allotted timeframe, we close the case and restore funds to the rightful owner

Being Reviwed by paypal - We review the information the buyer and seller have provided. We try to reach a final decision quickly, but complex cases may take longer and require additional information from the buyer or seller.

Item return - The seller or PayPal may decide to grant a full refund to the buyer if the merchandise is returned. Once delivery is confirmed and the refund is processed, the case is closed.

Looks very grim for me.

I was about to say i have had this before.

Always put a picture of your item with the serial number etc.

I do this mainly with hard drives all the time. It also saved me once witha GTX 480 GPU someone tried to stiff me with.

Maybe you should read the last 50 posts and see what everyone else thinks...
