ebay item help

There was lots more wrong with it than just the wrong category, I am trying to be polite so will just say that almost every aspect of that listing was not very good

Listing is misleading, but in the Op's defence ebay have changed the way you list things - a lot of it is now auto filled when you type in a subject line for the listing

I was selling a brand new unopened XBox Console with Kenict including 2 games - Adventure and a Disney Game on there a month or so ago, so I typed that into the Subject Line of the listing and their site automatically put my listing as in 'accessories and games'.

Now at the time I didn't notice. It was only when I was trying to put a delivery fee in and the most I could charge was £7.00 and that was for the highest delivery fee. Re-read the listing an noticed that cause I had used the hit words of XBox Kinect and listed the 2 game names it automatically mis-categorised it

As well as it doing that, the site will also auto fill specifications based on the key words and selling category that the site has picked.

The Op's post is misleading, but when you don't 100% check everything, then check again to be sure when you put stuff up on ebay these days this can happen. Also in the pic on the post there is no phone so the buyer is a little thick tbh

category was wrong and filled out automatically with the phone info, and yes, I should have put it more clearer in the title

anyway, its relisted now

I'm afraid i agree, that's a pretty dirty trick imo.
You could easily put in capital letters THIS IS FOR THE BOX ONLY, NO PHONE IS INCLUDED.
The buyer will get refunded and you could get your account suspended i guess.

Asking the winner bidding not to pay will cost you your fees. It's also totally unprofessional. Again, you were given advice and you have chosen to ignore it totally.

How have I ignored it exactly?

I have ended the item, opened a case with ebay to cancel the transation and relisted in the correct category and specifically said no box.

I sold to high bidder then opened a case to close transaction. Easier than cancelling about 20 bids!

well, i hope your auction winner got the msg before he signed into paypal, otherwise it could take him a while to get his £ back into his bank acc :(

Yeah, about twenty minutes. Paypal to bank is pretty much an instant transfer now.
