Just received this message regarding the MDA I'm selling on Ebay:

Hi!
Iam very interested in your PDA.
Tell me pelase how much will be shipping to Minsk, Belarus ( It's Central Europe )?
I will pay you by Paypal.

Please answer ASAP.
Thanks
Y S

I'm not sure whether the guy is legit or not, what do you lot reckon?

Here's what you do, take the paypal payment then just move it straight into your bank account and make sure there's no money in your paypal. Then just wait until the paypal money is actually in your bank account before sending the item. That way if he tries a clawback he'll be on to plumbs.

Out of interest, what's the best place to find out what it would cost to send a parcel to Belarus? I have no idea where to look!

Hows that going to help? All that will happen when the guy tries a chargeback (or Paypal realise its a fake card) is that Rich's Paypal balance will be reduced by the value of the dodgy transaction. Having the money in your bank account doesn't legally make it yours I'm afraid

A mate did the same thing and ended up having to pay back Paypal after receiving a court summons from them.

BAD advice as said above.

I never ship outside the UK, no exceptions.

I'd err on the side of caution and tell him you can't ship outside of the UK

The context you are using the word "err" is listed as being "archaic" in the Dictionary for a reason. Lest we all be talking in yee olde English.

Exactly.
Charge £35 outside of Europe, I would.

If you keep all of your dealings within eBay, you are better protected. Be cautious of anyone who emails you trying to get you to deal with them outside of eBay.

err on the side of caution is a very common expression.

If in doubt, don't use Paypal.

Request CASH via recorded/special delivery from him.

If he declines then you know what to do next.
