Hi,

just sold my phone on ebay and only just noticed that the winner bidder is from the America ( Calnifornia ) with only 5 positive feedbacks over a year ago.

I have just sent her an invoice anyways, and added postage to make up for it. What happens if she doesn't pay, would i loose out on ebay fees etc etc ?

still pretty annoying ! assume paypal works the same over there, is there any way paypal might also retract payment if later finds out she is dodgy ?

oh and how come she is even allowed to bid, as i put on my auction UK bidders only ??

I doubt shes dodgy, sold and sent a lot of stuff on eBay all around the world, even sold a flag to someone in Iisrael.

Just make sure you send it insured and via airmail.

quick update guys, just got this email :

-----------

Hi
Sorry, I am from USA, and Interested to buy your item and now I have winning bidder for your item. But, Could you send the item to my friend in Indonesia?
Because, I need to give something SUPRISE to my friend.
I will pay for additional shipping. I prefer paypal for make payment and will pay with paypal. Please let me know if you interested Many thanks for your help and attentions.

Best regards

sound genuine ? also any way i can get screwed over if she uses paypal ???

Thanks again !!!

Avoid at all costs. All she has to do is claim you took her money on Paypal and she never received the item and Paypal will refund the money to her straight away from your account as they never contest chargebacks and are heavy in favour of the buyer and not the seller.

Bottom line: She will end up with the phone and the money. Avoid!

Like i said Paypal will give it her/he/it back without a quibble.
Unless, of course, that the seller can prove he did dispatch the item as requested.

In which case, it'd be theft by deception if the buyer and/or Paypal tries to remove the money from the seller's account.

Nope, they see it as the sellers responsibility right up until it reaches the buyer. So even if it does actually get sent and they still dont get it (gets lost in post) Paypal still refund the money to the buyer and then its up to the seller to mess around with Royal Mail with claims and such.

Its all in Paypals wonderfull terms and conditions :)

Don't Go There!!!

It will most likely be a scam... Ive seen those before and nearly lost an O2 XDA Exec.

They will most likely pay using a hacking PayPal account... and since you didn't post to the address on the PayPal account... you will get screwed.

Insist you will only post to the Verified PayPal address and nothing else!

I had almost exactly the same problem selling a phone on Ebay. The guy who won the auction was registered in holland then sent me the worst written email ever saying he bought it for his sister and could I send it to Nigeria and he would pay by paypal.
You best bet is to agree to sell them the phone only if they pay by western union. that way they can't claw the money back after you have sent the phone. ;)
