Sup everyone,

im interested in buying a car for a ad i found on the autotrader. problem is the car is uk registered but has been shipped back to switzerland where the girl who owns the car has moved back. only thing im worried about is if i will get scammed. she suggested using the ebay protection program where i release the money to ebay.. she will then get a confirmation from ebay saying they have released the money, she will then ship it out to me.. once i get the car and i inspect it and happy i then contact ebay and ebay will release the funds into her account.

is this how it works? also if anything was to go wrong i.e i dont receive the car or i dont hear from her.. will i get my money back?

I would never buy a car without seeing it. silly ideai imo. Just look at the guy the other day who thought he was buying a csl, and lost over 30k.

What car is it? surely you can find an alternative you can actually go and look at.

I wasn't aware ebay have ever acted as an escrow service?

Its a new thing they do, whereby the money isn't released to the seller until the buyer has the product and has

a) either left good feedback
b) that ebay has been shown proof of postage
c) the funds are let go after so many days i think 60, providing neither party has a complaint.

I still think its open to abuse and would still never buy a car, without seeing it.

It's a scam. Move on.

Did you not look at similer cars and see that it is hilariously underpriced?

yup thats why i curious... she gave me the process saying ebay wont release any money to her account until ive inspected the car and have test drove it. just wanted to double check to see if what she was saying was true
