Strange one. A bidder won at item I sold on 4th October. She has 100% positive feedback (82) but has still not paid.

I opened an unpaid case in eBay resolution center on 6th October. The case shows

Problem "The buyer hasn't paid for this item yet."
Status "Unpaid item case open - awaiting payment You can close this case now"

Now what? If you win an auction you normally have to pay for what you win, which I always have on ebay and real life auctions. Does this not apply to ebay?

This does apply to ebay as well, but are you really going to sue her? Just relist and move on.

*Even if you want to take her to court, you do actually have to relist it anyway - you can't prove she has caused you financial loss until you sell the item at a lower price and you can sue her for the difference.

I've got automatic non payment disputes set for 48 hours, and bids disabled from users with a number of no payment strikes it's in the settings somewhere.

Close the case, have the fees refunded, relist.

Thanks all. Done and relisted.

eBay should really have a system that charges non paying bidders or closes their account permanently. Seems stupid to me someone can win something then dont have to pay if they don't want / change their mind. What's to stop me winning auctions of sellers I dont like?

Honestly, ebay already have the fix to this in the auction listing.

Buy it now (no best offer) with immediate payment required.

You don't ever lose on price either with it not being an auction. Just price sensibly to the sold listings. This weeds out the time wasters.

Good thing with this format too is that it usually automatically offers paypal credit over a certain value, which opens up a much bigger buyers market for you and you get better prices.

Exactly what I do.

PayPal credit is great. Interest free for 4 months. I use it all the time
