eBay query

I didnt cancel because i could get a better price, I cancelled because he took too long to pay up.

But your actions have resulted in even more of a delay for payment. You got the money, so whats the problem? Why continue to force cancellation after he's paid, in full, for the item?

Why not just post it out and be done with it, I don't understand why you went through the hassle and faff of refunding him and relisting the item!

I think it's because he had already relisted the item before the original buyer paid. Probably because he didn't expect a payment at all.

I didnt cancel because i could get a better price, I cancelled because he took too long to pay up.

And I requested payment from the buyer immediately after he won, no reply, I then requested cancellation of the transaction 2 days after he won. no reply. he then paid up a few hours after 4 days had passed since the sale, I immediately refunded him and send him a message stating he took too long and its been re listed. He then refused the cancellation of the transaction.

I call ebay, ebay side with me. end of story.

So his complete lack of communication resulted in my being "arsey" as you put it.

I'm not a business just a person selling old junk on ebay, so in this case the customer isn't always right and I couldn't care less if they like that or not.

Cool attitude bro.

Seems like you haven't considered the possibility of the bidder using a sniper to automatically bid near to the end, and that they might have been doing something important in their life that stopped from the hugely important act of paying you for an auction of tat you don't want.

As has been said, it's not down to you to tell people how long they've got to pay, it's eBay's call. To get annoyed after 2 days is ridiculous. A transaction taking a week used to be considered quick in earlier days of eBay.

This whole thing is absurd. Ebay's rules state 4 days for a reason, you can't put your own rules and expect buyers to abide by them, they are there to protect buyers and prevent confusion by standardising auctions. With the whole amount of time you spent on this debacle you could have put in extra time at work.
