Ebay Question

Hi all, ok i've just bid for a phone but when I tried to bid I got a message saying that the seller wont accept my bid because im not a member of paypal or my ebay account is not linked to paypal.Then when I pressed continue it asked me for my paypal password so I typed it in without thinking and now I can bid on the item.
Has this happened before to anyone? seems a it dodgy, you can never be too carefull.So should I cancel my card on Paypal or is this a normal thing?

Was this an email link?? I think you may have being scammed.

No, I've been asked for my paypal password before through ebay. Only thing is to ensure that you see https://www.paypal.com in the address bar. I always check the address bar whereever I enter my password. Takes roughly one second to look, better than risking your details being given away.

Thanks for the replies, no it wasnt done from an email link it was all through ebay. I've just never had to do it before which made me suspicious, Anyone else had this experience? :confused:

sounds normal to me.

It must be a paypal only auction. In which case you will need paypal linked to your ebay account. It's usually done with email address. But if there different then I would assume you get something like that.

If everything is through ebay and you haven’t followed any sellers links or the like you will be fine, always check though that the page has a padlock.
