Sold some ps4 games on eBay on Sunday. I haven't posted yet, doing it tomorrow. One guy has messaged me asking for a refund after the sale but before I've sent the game. Am I obliged to refund him or is it buyers remorse and tough luck?

It'll be less hassle to refund him now than risk them "going missing."

You aren't obliged to do anything, but if they want a refund they're likely going to push for one.

Okay thanks. I'll refund rather than risk losing something in the post or it getting broke and relist it.

**** eBay. I sold something every day last week on the local Facebook selling groups. It's where it's all at now.

Buyer collects and pays cash - everyone is happy. There is also Gumtree too.

Unfortunately ebay has become the new place to get scammed. Be thankful that you've been given the opportunity to avoid problems further down the line!

Did you state a dispatch time on your listing? nearly a week to get them posted out can see why the buyer might want a refund as they've no doubt bought it from elsewhere.

Sunday to Tuesday is 2 working days (assuming that the buyer actually paid at the end of the auction). That's hardly grounds to ask for a refund.

We're on Friday and OP states he still hasn't posted. If he stated on the listing that it would be 3 - 5 days dispatch then I agree that the buyer is being impatient, however if OP stated next day then I feel the buyer is within their rights to request a cancellation and refund.

How many times have you ordered from OCUK for example expecting next day delivery but they do on time fail to meet that and will give you the option to cancel the order or get free postage (granted you'll already have it)

He hasn't posted it yet because the buyer asked for a refund on Tuesday - just 2 working days. As others have said, posting the item and trying to force the sale would be silly in this case - better to refund and relist.

I can't see any mention of Tuesday?

In the past I've ordered 2 things then requested a refund before it's been shipped if I bought it in error or on a whim on Ebay and both times the seller have done this, saves both parties hassle, I've even done it myself when people have bought parts from me.

Refund and move on will save you hassle in the long run.

Doesn't state if the buyer messaged him on Tuesday when he created the thread or directly after purchasing.

Still not more than 2 working days then and my point still stands: the OP hasn't caused delays which would justify a refund.

(But, of course, he should still issue a refund)

you have the option to cancel the order through ebay and you will recoup your fees, relist and sell them again. much easier and quicker to do it now than waste time and money posting.

With games buyers I always wait a couple of days before sending to allow for Buyer's Remorse. The kids who buy these things are notorious for changing their minds 24 hours later. Or maybe they're hoping you've sent it already. Either way I learnt this lesson flogging stuff on Amazon's marketplace before anybody has another eBay rant.

Am I obliged to refund him or is it buyers remorse and tough luck?

Never do this. They'll report it broken and claim a refund and you'll still receive it back. In pieces.
