eBay removing negative feedback ratings how/why?

You can't trust feedback or reviews anywhere.

it's all "marketing" now and mostly fake.

On Amazon they let them do "rug pulls" where they change the item listing to something else entirely, but the old reviews for the different item remain.... any reviews with photos make it obvious.

I make a habit of saying the item name I bought in the reviews on there now.

I think eBay can be ok if you're selective about what you buy off there.

Reviews have to be checked thoroughly most places though, like @arknor says about Amazon - I've lost count of the number of items I've gone to read reviews about and they've all been for something completely different.

Everyone knows eBay is terrible. MM is handy as 9/10 you know you aren’t getting ripped off.

I’d say you need to just cheer up and move on. And posting on here certainly won’t be helping that blood pressure mentioned :D

Joking about blood pressure aside, this is a thread about selling/buying on eBay. I don't think I was unreasonable for daring to get upset that some unscrupulous buyer decided to raise an "item not as described" dispute, in order to avoid paying unwanted item return fees. Ebay ruled in their favour despite the fact the item was accuratley described as, "used with some cosmetic damage".

THat was enough for me to realise the few hundred quid I would make selling is not enough for the hassle.

My issue with MM is that I have seen people make really cheeky low bids, yet when you see them selling their own used kit they think 20% lower than new is a bargain.

I've been saying it for years, if eBay was a bricks & mortar high street shop it would've been closed down by trading standards years ago and Esther Rantzen would've been perpetually camped out in the lobby of Hotham House.

Waste of time reading reviews. I’ll keep saying this, most are manipulated.
