I manage fine buying and selling. I don't buy or sell high risk items and I'm picky about who I buy from, so it all works out fine.
 
i tell what you i hated lately, because of the strikes you could not leave DSR for delivery time, order something last week and they didnt even send it for 8 days after clearly saying would dispatch in 2 days, they did it on purpose thinking they could get away with it.

DSR is 7 days from RECEIPT of goods any way, plus had they sent it when supposed to, the postage would be dated as such. What noobs!

This is the email chain I was talking about. It's even funnier than I remember. The only thing that I have edited are names and swear words. Everything else is untouched although in between some of the emails he left me a few voicemails so if something doesn't make sense it's because I'm replying to his VM.

Same bank to same bank (such as HSBC to HSBC) is the same day. But between banks transfers take at least 3 working days. That has been the standard for years.

Tell you what. When the money arrives (I expect this will happen tomorrow), I will send you a screenshot of my internet banking page showing the money arriving with the date next to it.

That message is full of win.....

You did steal his money and went below his level, should have refunded or sent him the stuff out.

That's why i'd rather throw something in the bin than waste god knows how many hours trying to sell it on ebay....
 
No nothing happened in the end.

That negative feedback probably cost me at least a little money in the long run as some people don't like bidding on things when there is a neg at the top of a seller's feedback profile and it was completely uncalled for. I tried reasoning with him as best I could but he left the neg anyway. He only had to wait one more day. Add that to all the abuse I had to deal with, including the phone calls at work and I have no regrets about donating his jeans to cancer research. If I had ignored him until the Wednesday he probably would've left me a neg for ignoring him anyway which is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

He was just a one of a kind though, never come across another one like him and I don't think I ever will again.
 
We (as a business) sell approx 300 items a month via eBay at the moment, and this is growing every month, and we have very few problems.

We have an account manager based in Ireland who sorts problems out and most customers are very pleasant when things do go wrong. The only annoyance is keeping up with eBay's policy changes on an almost monthly basis, but it's not all bad!

Good communication is the key to a successful buying or selling experience on eBay.

I'm almost jealous that I've never been this abused in 1 email before.
 
you dont have the patience or the personality to be an ebay trader, it takes a lot of calm vibes and the temperament of a saint to sell on ebay, i would have talked to that guy nicely and gained his trust and sent his stuff out. People arent themselves often over the internet so you have to allow for that.
 
The guy is clearly an idiot, but that doesn't make it ok to keep his money and his item. You could have just been adult about it, shrugged off his moronic insults and sent the jeans out. Instead you bait him about how you'll be keeping both the jeans and money and giving the jeans away free :/

Bit like teasing a dog, really. Funny for you perhaps, but ultimately childish.
