eBay

It's a good thing I'm not an ebay trader then! My first few replies were calm and professional but I'm not a business, I was a guy selling 1 pair of jeans on ebay.

Like I said, I have no regrets and I know I made the right decision for me. On more than one occasion he told me he didn't want the jeans so who am I to argue? :) Even after all the abuse I was still going to send him the jeans, it was the negative feedback that sealed it. He was abusing the feedback system so I consider his £17 as compensation. Besides, I didn't benefit from it since I gave the jeans to charity. He's a bully and I'm glad he didn't get his way. People like this should be eradicated from society.

You could have just been adult about it, shrugged off his moronic insults and sent the jeans out.

He still would've left a negative.

Funny and well deserved but wrong as has already been pointed out.

But I suppose the neg will cost more than the jeans so at least it covers you a little.

66 transactions (15 of which as a seller) in 7 years, never had a problem.

The fees are rather too high and it's an annoyance getting hit twice with the necessity of paypal, but then this is usually more than offset by the higher price you get compared to selling on forums.

You were petty and deserved the negative feedback by lowering your standards below the buyer.

But you win his money and keep the jeans so who cares

How exactly did I lower my standards below the buyer before the feedback was left?

And no I didn't keep the jeans

If you want to talk about standards you should've heard the abusive voicemails he was leaving me. I posted the email chain because it was funny, I'm not looking for your opinion.

Love ebay for buying and selling follow their instructions to the letter and some conmen sense and it minimises the risk. due to seller fees, it's no longer a one size fits all. But even with fees on a lot of items you can get more selling it through the bay than you could private.

I remember a couple of years ago the Chinese scammers had loads of brand new laptops and TVs on there for about 100 quid each, buy it now. None of that now.

Just to add another success story, bought eight pairs of CK boxers yesterday for a ridiculously low price, arrived today.

The only thing that feels better than new socks is new boxers.

My ebay account was suspended due to a mate who never told me was ban for selling dodgy xbox's and I got something delivered to him for his birthday.

After much arguing with ebay, they ceased all replies to my self and ban my account, I tried so many times to justify what had happened, but in their eyes, I wasn't me but my mate who had made a false account.

Hate ebay, they are so arrogant it's unreal, I even suggested I visit or even fax all paperwork with proof that I am me and not my moron mate.

(if anyone has any contact numbers to help me with this, as I really do need an ebay account as parts for a ducati are not easy to come by, PLEASE let me know)

agnes, been there done that. The template emails the brainless "customer service" reps send just end up going round in circles. They won't take your phone calls unless you're a powerseller. Did you have a lot of good feedback? The problem with creating a new one is that they will probably link it back to your old account via your paypal account and just ban you again.

had nothing but 100% feedback, never had an issue, was a small time seller/buyer. So, how do I go about trying again? Does this mean if, IF I ever get my account back I can't buy from it anyway?

Is the only way to get a new account a name change, new bank and new address? lol

It all goes a little to far tbh.

You can use a variant of your name and address. But yes you probably need a new paypal account which means new card and new bank account (not too hard I suppose). The biggest annoyance is starting from 0 feedback.

Also, never ever log into your old paypal and ebay accounts on the same computer as your new ones. They log IP addresses and will ban you again.

But if you get your old account back it should be 100% working (no limitations).

I wouldnt have thought you need a new address lol, but you will need a new email and bank account to use.

Yes as Bennie says, a new email address of course. For the address change it from this:

12 High Street, London, SW18 1FG

to this:

12a High Street, London, SW18 1FH

Probably best to change your first name as well, perhaps use your middle name.

I thought the address wouldnt have mattered? People move house and other family members might have an ebay account so surely they couldnt just block an address?

You might be right, it's just what I did when I went through something similar because I didn't want to give them any reason to ban me. It's been 3 years though and now I'm using my proper address again.

Any eBay sellers having trouble logging?

Click Sell then enter the name of an item. When you press continue you will get asked to enter your login details again, even when I enter my correct details it throws me back to the login screen with no error.

Can anyone else try this and let me know if it's broken?

I can login to eBay fine, it's the second login challenge when you try and sell something.
