Ecoballs...

If it works. I can't see how it can clean clothes or soften them.

Let us know. Especially if you have anything that gets really dirty.

Wow, what a response!

Must admit I had not heard of them before. Saw them in the national trust shop in york and thought cool! Love stuff like this as well.

Will try them tomorrow.

Firstly, I think I'd miss out on that fresh smell soap powder gives your clothes. What exactly will the clothes smell like after using these Ecoballs?

Second, my tip for instantly reducing your cost on soap tablets. The boxes always tell you to use two tablets - but most of the time, I get away with just one, with the exception of large loads. Buy a tub of Oxy from the £1 shop, and use a scoop of this for heavily soiled loads.

Theres an article HERE where people give their feedback.

This didn't sound too good:

I have used washing balls for over 2 years and was always happy with the results until one day when a ball came apart in my machine causing all the small balls inside to block it up and break it completely – not a frugal outcome!

Not only are they chemical-free

That would make them non-existent.

ionized oxygen that activates the water molecules naturally

This is just cobblers.

Basically they sit in the washing machine and do nothing, but because water is a pretty good cleaner on its own (except for when there's oil or something on the clothes) you don't notice anything odd. Because you paid for these things you'll do anything except admit you were conned, hence the glowing reviews by idiots.

File next to the Broquet Fuel Catalyst.

well adding ionised oxygen is a recognised way of cleaning water, also ionized oxygen would probably split water into OH- and OH, which would help it kill bacteria.

meh could probably work this out but cant be arsed its the holiday, so wasn't to avid as much chemistry as possible.

Soo fascinating fact about water when compressed and heated till it is a supercritical fluid it will break down practically every thing, and is used to destroy chemical weapons.

None of which sounds like these balls achieve. In any real quantity.

WQould liek to try some on my work trousers. That would give them a real test.

never said they'd be able to produce enough to work just that it wasn't complete tosh, and yeah if it was supercritical it would dissolve the washing machine :p
