Ecogreen vs Caviar Green

I am looking to buy a couple of 1.5TB drives for a home server. As such most important to me would be noise and reliability. I think Samsung and WD are probably on par in terms of reliability (I know individuals might have different experiences), but does anyone have experience on noise levels between the two drives?

Or anything else you think I might consider when making my decision? Is it as simple as which one I can get for the better price?

I haven't tried the Sammys, but I can vouch for the Caviar Green being quiet. I got three in a home server and they're excellent in terms of power use and noise. Only downside was the need to fix the load/unload cycle issue - perhaps not completely necessary but an easy update anyway.

Been using Samsung F2 Ecogreens and they are very quiet so your choice.

how does one do the update? been all over WDs site and can't see the files..
