Ecoli Outbreak in the UK

I saw this on Sky and my thoughts mirrored yours. My assumption was it was something so generic and widespread that they didn't want to tell people for fear of them dumping whatever it is.

Interestingly the FSA site has nothing on it yet.

Seem more to be leaning to food based on the geographical spread rather than a conspiracy of not telling us so as not to cause panic.

So are the odds better on winning the national lottery or the Ecoli lottery?

Either they don't actually know what food item(s) are causing this, or are being pressured by the manufacturer not to. Not sure which is worse.

Might have been a good idea to give us a vague idea of what said food article was, so we coud avoid it ?

Based on the wide geographic spread of cases, it is most likely that this outbreak is linked to a nationally distributed food item or multiple food items. The source of this outbreak is not yet confirmed but there is currently no evidence linking the outbreak to open farms, drinking water or swimming in contaminated seawater, lakes or rivers.

Seems like they may not know the cause at this point

Yea, being a widespread outbreak like it is and the same bug, show's it's not an environmental source.

I'm going with the salmon mousse pre-packed salad.

Buy local food from local producers and cook it yourself. There is no way a national issue is caused by local food!

Avoid mass produced, processed food and you'll be fine.
