They probably don't know what the item is and won't risk guessing in case they get it wrong and get sued for damages/losses when the entire nation stops buying something.

Also, if it was a single (or handful) batch of something, they've probably mostly been sold and consumed already anyway.

Exactly, I'm sure they know, or at least have some idea. Something will be stopping them releasing it though, whether uncertainty or corporate pressure.

Eh, what's there to be sure about.

People who don't know each other all over the place and you have to ask them what they ate and did for the last week and hope something is similar.

It would be nice and easy if it was the classic wedding party getting food poisoning within 24h.
