Ecotek valve, does it really work? - don't laugh

i'm obviously not going to buy an electic supercharger lol but i reckon they will give some small gains?

Below is a graphic of the distance between cars with and without the CB-26P device showing how far ahead the modified car is when the unmodified car is travelling at the indicated speed, all the data was taken from 10 mph so as to exclude variations in the launch characteristics so the distances shown are actually understated from standing start times and graphically illustrate the potential benefits of the device.

seriously, if you know so little you should get one. it will fulfil the stereotype

It sucks air! At least the one I had the displeasure of seeing did.

Put your finger on it and your finger sucked towards it, you couldn't feel air being blown onto your finger.

Surely this isn't a leak. Why would it have a filter on it to expell air?

was that at both front wheels or just one side?

if you have 4wd do you fit one at the rear too?

It worked on both front wheels! Bargain!

I put my back seats down flat to lower the centre of mavity which reduced the weight of the car and shaved a second and a half off my 0-60 time too. It's amazing how much performance you can get out of your car for cheap if you use your head.

You do realise what a vacuum is don't you?

Yes, a vacuum sucks. Put a split into this and if the vacuum is strong enough it will continue to suck air from the new source.

To collapse a vacuum you can either let air escape or create a second point of suction. This device does the latter by adjusting a turn screw to determine the amount of air to allow into the vacuum pipe. Ergo, its not a leak. That would be stupid and dangerous considering it makes up part of the braking system and under EU law would not be allowed.

Shock horror! (rolleyes)

A non return valve allowing air into the vacuum to create turbulence in the vacuum pipe.

What would happen if I fitted two electric superchargers, two ecotek's and twin resistors of justice? I think I could probably almost achieve perpetual motion....

Lol yeah, thats the stupid bit. But apparently the next time you press the loud pedal, this turbulent air is ready to hit the inlets! :p

What would happen if I fitted two electric superchargers,
You would loose power due to the additional drain on the alternator and the obstruction in the air intake.
two ecotek's
Your car would weigh more, and your wallet would weigh less
and twin resistors of justice?
You'd probably ruin your cat and engine by overfueling and borewash.
I think I could probably almost achieve perpetual motion....
Only Steorn know that secret. ;)

do you understand what manifold vacuum is and what its for? ill scratch the surface for you.... the vacuum behind the throttle plate is used to control items such at fuel pressure regulators, some engines have map sensors (manifold absolute pressure sensor) to give the ecu an idea of how much load the engine is under.

therefore, having a VACUUM LEAK means things like the fuel pressure reg will never shut properly. a map sensor will think your throttle is partially open and end up chucking more fuel in.

if you have a maf sensor, you are letting un metered air in

in short... this device is completely and utterly retarded.

go read up about manifold vacuum

how do people get away with selling resistor powarrr chips and electric superchargers with pc fans inside them and ecotek valves??

So don't do it then? :D

i have a mk2 golf 8v, these are known torque monsters (nuff toorrrk to tow an oil platform, launch in 4th gear etc)

basically i live day to day with infinity lbft, yuo just have to adjust your right foot accordingly (ie break your ankle so that you can barely apply any pressure to the throttle. breaking your ankle is safer than dishing out a million lbft
