ECU advice

i dont see any mention of you having changed or cleaned anything on it, so i dont know how you can point the finger at the ecu
you have a misfire and that points to the spark side of it, so plugs, leads, coilpack. tech2 will not tell you if the leads or coilpack is arcing to the head.
the misfire will also have damaged the lambda partially or fully and its old anyway.

Sorry I should have mentioned that as it is mentioned in the thread I have put a link for in the OP. I have had both the throttle body and throttle position sensor changed. Had the fuel relay changed (there was a fault in the original one). I've had numerous garages hook up their prognosis equipment and they can't find no error code, there was one and it was to do with the throttle body which I obviously changed. A guy I got a service done from beginning of this year said he had changed the spark plugs but I don't know if he had or hadn't...

It's also too easy to just do a simple code check and not look deeper into things.
There are both temporary and historic codes stored in different areas of the ecu.
So you could easily miss one set of codes.
Then deeper still there are items "pending" where a counter is running on any particular fault.
These are designed for glitches to occur without throwing on the MIL.
Once the count gets to a certain point, it then decides there is definitely a fault and puts on The MIL for further investigation.

You can view this "count" before any MIL becomes active to help determine possible issues.

If a shed load of garages haven't found a simple ign lead break down they want their ass kicking.
In reality it clearly isn't "most likely" in this case now is it?
The OP has had this problem over a year and gone through many "specialists" by the sound of it.
